Such a beautiful, innocent poem isn't it?
It's by
Robert Frost, mentioned in
The Outsiders.
I think that's what's making me make some
huge drastic changes in myself.
Or atleast, try to.
If you can understand the poem,
it's mainly talking about how
nothing gold (in value) can stay that way.
And most people dissect this poem saying it's talking about
CHILDHOOD or INNOCENCE.I agree.I realized that kids would
love to grow up faster,
so they can drive,
so they can
do whatever.
But when they get older, well, things just fall apart in someways.
If you give an adult a drink that could turn back the clock to when they were children,
why i believe that adult would grab it and gulp it down within seconds.
Would you believe it? Being here in the philippines with my cousins makes me wonder why we are speeding through life so fast. I dont know how, it just
DOES.
And then there's this whole innocence thing.
How i wish i could be innocent once more.
But no, the things we see on TV, the "music" we hear,
our world is a dark world. We see violence, we see crime. And then we hear the vulgarities that tag along too.
But do we really need all these?
Maybe violence and crime are inevitable, but vulgarities?
We could live with other words. So I've decided to actually make a
New Year's Resolution list this year.
To do what I can to become gold again.
